Wendlingen hydroelectric power plant
Partly concealed in underground structures, the hydroelectric power plant in Wendlingen was constructed in 1990 on the publicly owned weir. It generates approx. 3.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity p.a. Water is fed to a bevel-gear bulb turbine with a propeller diameter of approx. 2 metres at a rate of up to 20 m3 per second via a fall measuring around 3.75 metres. The generator has an installed capacity of approx. 0.5 megawatts, which is equivalent to about 700 h.p.
